It is the periodic assessment of measures or approximation of change in sectoral or broad economic indicators as benefits that have resulted from implementation of the AEC Blueprint 2025.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are outcome-based indicators as identified and endorsed by the relevant AEC sectoral bodies. Examples of KPIs are:
i) Utilisation rate of ATIGA preferential tariffs
ii) Share of intra-ASEAN trade
iii) Share of intra-ASEAN Foreign Direct Investment flows
The reporting of the progress of the compliance and outcomes monitoring will be conducted periodically both for internal and public audiences. In addition to regular quarterly compliance monitoring report and presentation to higher bodies, regular sectoral integration monitoring and surveillance and internal reporting continues, such as through the ASEAN Financial Integration Monitoring Report and the ASEAN Investment Surveillance Report, ASEAN Integration Report and the twice yearly ASEAN Economic Intergration Brief.
The main source of data are ASEAN Statistics, sectoral data and external sources/databases. Survey data collected by business associations, chambers of commerce, academic and research institutions as well as other regional and international organisations could serve as external data sources.
To provide necessary feedback to the relevant stakeholders to facilitate decision making on prioritisation, sequencing, new activities or the phasing out of activities no longer relevant.
